Hello, Brachylagus_fandom or anyone who stumbles upon this later,

This is my Honor Harrington Server 2024 Exchange letter! Thank you so much for writing for me! AUs are generally welcome, just check first. If you want more details for my AUs, feel free to shoot me a message, ideally via Discord. Of course, you’re also welcome to reuse old prompts for characters I’ve requested in this letter, if you want.

For Manticorian characters that overlap your writing and my reading list, I’m requesting Michelle Henke.

New Prompts:

  • Michelle meeting with Eloise again? Michelle dialing back the constant snark at Havenites, or realizing how much trouble it could have got her in?

Shannon Foraker:

New Prompts:

  • One More Time AU: Comparing and contrasting Elvanian and Havenite culture

  • Her nearly being found out regarding her past and the panicked paranoid hacking or blackmail or bribery sprees that follow

Lester Tourville:

  • I’ve got a bunch of other prompts, but if you want a new one, maybe Citizen Admiral Cowboy and how he kept that “cowboy persona” up over the years. Could also be contrasted against Shannon’s techniques from One More Time, if you want to play in that sandbox.

  • Or, a few examples of slightly diverging from his persona and people's reactions.

Abigail Hearns and or Rachel Mayhew (with a side of Hipper)

  • Her reaction to the Grand Alliance, especially meeting Havenite officers. What's her opinion about serving with them? Major cultural differences?

Dear Speedwriter,

Thanks for writing for me. You are also welcome to look at my other letters on my DW for additional details and prompts, there’s a bunch of stuff there.

You may, if you’d like, ignore my medium opt-ins for treats/extra gifts. For example, I didn’t opt in to fanart - however, if it’s a treat, go for it and make the fanart your heart desires!

Honor Harrington Series - David Weber

Abigail Hearns & Shannon Foraker (Honor Harrington)
  • I usually write the two of them in my One More Time AU, if you're already into it.
  • Abigail’s good at tactics with Manticorian hardware, Shannon was (arguably still is) a tac witch with Havenite hardware and might just be convinced to show Abigail a trick or two about getting the most out of your hardware, even if not everything is a podlayer.
  • If you aren't into that AU, maybe cultural difference between GSN Culture and PN/RHN Culture regarding victory parties? Get Shannon out of Bolthole somehow, and maybe Honor sends her Abigail to get Abigail used to working with Havenites?
Berjouhi Lafontaine & Shannon Foraker (Honor Harrington)
  • This could be an interesting mentoring relationship. Berjouhi’s a young Ensign in IEH and likely looks at Shannon as if she hung the stars themselves, while Shannon personally, I don’t think she’d want a junior officer to idolize her like that after the disaster that was HAE for her & MacMurtree & Caslet, that they got captured in. Berjouhi also saw what happened regarding Shannon and Tourville and the footage, and I headcanon she was watching when “Oops” happened.
Eloise Pritchart/Javier Giscard (Honor Harrington)
  • They’re the best example of a relationship that was cut far too short & a Javier Lives AU could be interesting.

  • If he survived Lovat unharmed, he’d have been captured in Tourville’s place, and Tourville would have had to explain to Eloise how he let her husband get captured. I foresee Tom trying to tell him that Javier’s going to be okay & that he did the best he did, Eloise trying to write letters knowing they are going to be analyzed and censored to death (plus their relationship getting leaked to the media), Shannon having PTSD flashbacks to HAE and how things flipped… Sorry about the headcanon ramble.
Lester Tourville & Michelle Henke (Honor Harrington)
  • They’re both more reckless then most, and senior-level flag officers. Maybe they start to slowly bond over various things, around the time of Mesa?
Shannon Foraker & Sonja Hemphill (Honor Harrington) and Shannon Foraker/Sonja Hemphill (Honor Harrington)
  • OMG, they are my OTP! Maybe them bonding with each other, Sonja realizing things like that her Havenite counterpart
    • works crazy shifts
    • speaks French, English and more like it’s nothing (she’s definitely not lowkey secretly jealous, especially when discovering that most of the documentation for the RHN stuff is in French, with no English translation)
    •  is scarily competent (though Sonja knew that after seeing how far Haven came during the ceasefire)
  • while Shannon realizes that:
    •  there are others like her (neither of them are stellar people persons, and they’re both intense nerds & hackers)
    •  she can delegate work and it’ll be okay
    • and cultural stuff (Canon says the people with the best educations in the PRH were typically from more outlying and later annexed portions, and I did explore that a decent amount in my One More Time AU, if you want a bit of an idea)
  • Spoilers ahead for late series Honorverse stuff. So I love pro-Havenite content, and especially ship Shannon/Sonja (the two geek girls are perfect for each other as they hack and R&D the Sollies and Mesans into atomic particles). Maybe something on Bolthole? Could be Sonja and Shannon hacking their way to each other's hearts, could be them dancing with enough at a techy party, and the whole station finding out. And of course, being Shannon, she wouldn't be opposed to doing some flashy demos to best ask Sonja to something, that is, once she figures things out.
  • If you want, Shannon/Sonja could be awesome (if only Weber was willing to ship it as / instead of &). Just think of the chaos the two tech nerds could create, while falling in love. Meanwhile, some of their fellow GA  Admirals are like "Shannon or Sonja was bad enough, now they are teaming up to hack my social medias as their date night idea"
Solo: Berjouhi Lafontaine (Honor Harrington)
  • She was Shannon’s ATO during IEH and has 100% spent enough time around Shannon to have her CO’s lessons rub off. And she knows a lot, and actually told Sinead Terekhov what happened regarding IEH.
Solo: Eloise Pritchart (Honor Harrington)
  • Her time as a Commissioner, and trying to be "ruthless commissioner" for the sake of her cover, while trying to protect Javier.
  • She started off as an Aprilist, then fell in love with the one person she probably wasn’t supposed to fall in love with, then ended up at President, before she got her love tragically ripped away far too soon in a war that she and Honor both knew things were up regarding.
  • Her appointment as President, then the election.
  • Dealing with the rightfully-angry Navy after Oops, and hoping that she won't be lynched. After all, Oops probably scared her a bit.
Solo: Javier Giscard (Honor Harrington)
  • I headcanon him as Thomas Theisman's roommate from the Academy, and having to explain to his orphan roommate "that's not supposed to happen", in terms of what he went through. He's also close with Lester Tourville, and would really like Shannon Foraker to stay alive and out of trouble (including not somehow making him drink her *extremely* caffeinated coffee, because when he had *half a cup* he didn't sleep much for weeks, because he got unknowingly-extremely-strong-coffee from the machine with the techy stickers).
  • Ended up with his commissioner of all people, and was a competent Admiral in his own right.
  • He didn't think he'd fall in love with his Commissioner, though he liked the CoPS's ideas (but not the implementation, especially regarding the Navy) , like getting the rich out of power better than the Harris Administration.
  • Javier Lives AUs can be fun, if you want (like maybe he wasn't at Lovat?).
Solo: Lester Tourville (Honor Harrington)
  • He’s awesome. Ideas:
  • Getting Shannon from Javier- he couldn't have been prepared for her (from her hacking skills to tac skills to sheer lack of social skills). But he sure is proud of her, by the end. It was a hard road to get to 1915 alive with her, but he knows she deserves all of the goodies she's honored with.
  • A few scenes of him as a POW post Battle of Manticore and his reaction to the Grand Alliance
  • More details regarding Citizen Admiral Cowboy
  • Dealing with wrangling Shannon & the sheer amount of chaos as a result of Shannon getting her missile pods → Adler → Press Conference → Cerberus → Zanzibar → Lovat & Oops
Solo: Michelle Henke (Honor Harrington)

  • Her time as a POW and meeting with President Pritchart (We barely got to see any of it in Storm from the Shadows and At All Costs), and got only like one line about how her being a POW messed with her mind.) Feel free to expand that out. Maybe some paranoia because of Pritchart's past, and what's happened to her family? Maybe an exploration of the "is this a good idea", "will it be worth it" from Pritchart's POV?
Solo: Shannon Foraker (Honor Harrington)
She’s awesome! I single-handedly massively expanded the number of fics with her in them on Ao3. She’s overcome a lot, as well, and somehow managed to be the awesome tac witch & tech nerd that she is, fail social stuff, and get a promotion per book until the crazy offscreen jump in between AoV & WoH (Commander to Vice Admiral).

  •  I headcanon her to have some PTSD from the events of HAE. She needs a lot of minding by Admiral Tourville (who ends up having a lot of interesting conversations with her), to avoid ending up in more trouble with StateSec. She's also known to drink way too much (very strong) coffee (it calms her down, and helps her function, so separating her from it is bad), as a way of allowing her to work herself until she collapses, so she doesn't have to deal with the nightmares that mess with her. I aggressively headcanon her to overwork herself like crazy, and Tourville has to try to keep a handle on that. She also hacks things for fun, to burn off the stress of dealing with angry!StateSec. It's safe to presume that she's the Chaos Goddess of wherever she is.
  • Shannon's promotion to Commander by Admiral Giscard, and the party that followed. Sure, the Vaubon crew may have just come out of some sketchy disasters, but it's still a big deal for an officer like Shannon to get promoted.
  •  Consider security firewalls merely anywhere from next to nothing to mildly annoying (*maybe* full on annoying, especially if having a coffee withdrawal headache while hacking, on the top tier of government and non-Havenite military firewalls) from her perspective. She is also (IMHO) the Tech Support Lady of where ever she is, at least pre-flag rank, as she gets too busy
  • Growing up? What was it like? Tech skills? How'd she become a tech witch? Times people called her a tech or tac witch?
  • The brief period of full on confidence between Honor's capture and the press conference. She feels confident again, that she's not just pretending to be a tac witch, and pretending to trust herself. Admiral Tourville and everyone else trust her witchcraft... Here's a example fic of mine of what I mean.
  • Conversations with Admiral Tourville about various things, from the events of HAE, to her past, to tactics.
  • She didn't jump Commander to Vice Admiral in one shot to Bolthole. Give her something in between, like cleaning up StateSec's mess, or the Civil War. Oh, and adapting to flag rank, and a staff of her own?
  • Past Mentors (and their fates). Like before Vaubon.  What happened to them? Many of them were likely shot or disappeared. How did she take things? How did she try to privately remember them?
  • Her promotion to Admiral. When does that happen? Who pins on her next star? Is it Tourville, who helped shape her as a staff officer? Is it Admiral Theisman, as CNO?

At Bolthole
  • developing the RHN's hardware, while having to deal with everything else that comes with being a flag officer (especially as she got promoted very fast, and if you stick strictly to canon, it'd be from Commander to Vice Admiral in a couple of years max, and she hadn't been actively trying to become a flag officer, according to Weber)
  • missing getting to play with her toys (if you do this, maybe set it after the GA, and let her out to go play, and make her deal with temporarily letting Sonja supervise things, but being glad to get out and play with things, and maybe everyone else's reactions to Miss Tac Witch getting out to create chaos.
  • Hacking things to have fun

Solo: Sonja Hemphill (Honor Harrington)
She’s led Manticore & the galaxy in naval R&D for decades. Ideas:

  • What was her time as a junior ship commander like? IIRC, this suggestion was from King Roger or Captain Adcock, when she was a Lieutenant Commander or so (check House of Steel to be sure)

  • Bolthole and meeting her counterpart.

  • Inheriting her Barony between WoH & AAC.

  • Her initial reaction to the Grand Alliance & that she + her people were moving out to Bolthole and that she & Shannon were going to work together.

  • Headcanon Alert: I see her, as a pre-Buildup officer (she and King Roger weren’t the exact same age, he was 100% her senior) potentially having different views on things (especially maybe learning a non-English language) culturally than newer officers, like Abigail. She might be too young to have learned French or German at the Academy, in the spirit of international relations, but maybe she was on the very tail tail end of the program by interia, never used it, and then has to pull it out, either when the Andies sign on with Manticore, or after the Grand Alliance. If you need to be 100% realistic, I’d make her learn German. For better cultural development and better understandings at Bolthole, French would be the better option.

  • I know TEiF says Sonja drinks tea to get the needed caffeine level (until Shannon intros her to Havenite coffee, IIRC), but really? Why does she try Havenite coffee? Did she accidentally grab Shannon's?

  • She enjoys hacking with Shannon and can keep up with Shannon, unlike many others.

  • If you really need something pre Grand Alliance, maybe while Sonja's a fleet commander at Grenselbane in the early war, she wishes she has her new SD(P) designs she's been working on with some of her tech nerds there, and falls asleep late one night, working on the blueprints?

Solo: Thomas Theisman (Honor Harrington)
  • He's definitely risen a lot from when we first meet him to now, as Secretary of War. He’s what kept the Republic together, as he stands with Eloise and the Navy stands behind him.
  • A Honorverse Today interview (2nd interview) says that he & Tourville were on the same ship as snotties, and mentored by Alfredo Yu. Maybe exploring his thoughts on people's defections and his former respect for them?

Temeraire - Naomi Novik
Solo: Jane Roland (Temeraire)
  • I like seeing strong women in fandom, and Jane not only has a dragon, but is an officer. Despite that the Corps only took women because they didn’t have another option, she’s very much an officer. Maybe, if you want to try AU options, either merge the Honor Harrington series (Honorverse) in somehow (it’s the Napoleonic Wars as well, but In Space, at least until [redacted for spoilers]), or make it a more modern AU, and she’s gender nonconforming?
Solo: William Laurence (Temeraire)
  • Being transferred from the Navy which he’d made Captain in, to the Aerial Corps was definitely a change of career.
  • My main AU idea is the Honorverse AU
Vorkosigan Saga - Lois McMaster Bujold
Solo: Cordelia Naismith Vorksogian (Vorkosigan Saga)
  •  First, I'm not all the way through the series, so stick to anything up to and through The Vor Game, though it’s been quite a while since I dipped my nose into it. My prefered idea is maybe something with Cordelia as a POW, that wasn't just straight from Shards (like maybe a missing scene).
Original Work
Admiral commanding Space Battleships & Their Naval Academy Classmate and Fellow Admiral in Naval R&D
  • Notes about “the class the stars fell upon” in reference to how many people made flag rank. They were friends then and stayed friends. Maybe R&D Admiral wishes personally (not officially admitting it), that they were able to command battleships (okay, that prompt is from a very specific milscifi fandom).
  • Space Battleship Admiral's feedback is directly helping Naval R&D Admiral with their work, but also making the latter wishing she could be back with a combat fleet.
Astronomer Who Found Something New / Science Blogger Reporting on the Discovery (F/F)

  • Science Blogger is trying her best to get things right, reading through astronomer’s papers on Arxiv. She didn’t anticipate getting a crush at first sight on her interview subject. I will warn you, that I have personally done a bit of research work in the field, so I'm very familiar with it! If you're interested in the field pro astronomer books How I Killed Pluto and Why It Had It Coming and Very Old Reddit AMA with two great astronomers in planetary science and Astrobites are an awesome start, but if that much research doesn't sound fun, that's fine!
    • I just would prefer things to stay closer to realism if set in modern times, like ideally no examples of someone getting all the time on a new telescope/instrument (the competition is fierce) or modern astronomers mainly staring through an eyepiece (there's lots of cameras and the sensors, and there's also radio astronomy, X-Ray Astronomy and more...)
    • You could also shift things off Earth to soften the scifi up, if you want to.
Crashed Space Explorer/Lord on Pre-Industrial World (OW)

  • I like the implications of First Contact. How do things change? Can the space traveler fix their ship? What makes the Traveler fall in love, or come back to the world for good? What makes the Lord leave their people?

Space Navy Admiral with Dad Vibes & Traumatized yet Talented Staff Officer that he tries to help
  • Maybe hurt/comfort? Staff Officer is rather traumatized, but trying to hide it, out of career concerns and he’s trying to prevent them from overworking themselves like crazy.
  • This is inspired by a very specific milscifi fandom. If you’ve read it, you know who I’m referring to.
  • The Admiral doesn't like seeing his protegee working themselves to the bones to try to punish themselves for the mistake that led to their PTSD.
Hardened Stowaway On Large Spaceship/Equally Hardened Captain Who Grows A Soft Spot For Them (OW)

  • I’m a sucker for F/F. Maybe the captain is frankly, tired of this type of stuff, then sees the stowaway and discovers why she needed to get off-planet? And they fall in love.
Winning General/Respected Opposing General Who is Their Postwar Arranged Marriage Spouse (OW)

  • You are welcome to play in my sandboxes of what I wrote for that tag on my Ao3, if you want.

  • You are allowed and encouraged to put a Space Navy spin on original ideas (navies don’t use army ranks, for the most part, long story short).

  • I'd love a scifi take on the prompt. Maybe the winning side just barely won, and the losing side ended up negotiating a surrender (the winning side was desperate enough to negotiate type of thing), with a side of f/f?
  • But if you have another idea you think I might like, you can ignore the additional prompts.

Forgotten God & Baby Left on its altar (OW)
  • Maybe God starts out like irritated “why do ppl give me babies?” and then tries its best to take care of the kid. Maybe it’s the kid, looking back at the stories the god had told them, as they act as a priest or priestess to the God for the locals?
Gifted Junior Space Navy Officer & Their Senior Officer Who's Mentoring Them (OW)

  • Their senior officer notices their talent, and helps them hone it? Senior officer enjoys finding talent? This is also based off a certain milscifi fandom that I requested this year. (If you haven't guesed it, it's the Honorverse)

Toll of Honor, by David Weber, just showed up for me today, and I'm enjoying it a lot. Doing a lot of liveblogging my reactions on tumblr and copying those to Discord.
Dear Creator,

I'm so glad you decided to do this! Oh, and my letter is full of late-series spoilers for anyone who's not done with the series, sorry. I love treats, if someone stumbles across this later.

A few things that may be useful

- I'm a big fan of the good Havenites, especially Shannon Foraker and Lester Tourville (among quite a few). I ship Shannon/Sonja, Eloise/Javier as well as Eloise/Javier/Thomas and Eloise/Tom (post-Lovat).

- I like hurt/comfort and fluff, and while normally I read just about anything, please read DNWs

- Check my Ao3 if you want ideas for what I like. There's a lot of Honorverse stuff on there.

Character Related Prompts (there's some serious headcanon in this):

Havenites

Shannon Foraker

- I headcanon her to have some PTSD from the events of HAE.

- Admiral Giscard, knowing he couldn't give her the protection and enrichment and care she needed, sends her to Admiral Tourville.

- Shannon's promotion to Commander by Admiral Giscard, and the party that followed. Sure, the Vaubon crew may have just come out of some sketchy disasters, but it's still a big deal for an officer like Shannon to get promoted.

- I headcanon that Shannon didn't like Commissioner!Eloise (after both the implied aftermath of HAE and her years as a staff officer in 12th Fleet), but supported President!Eloise, because she looked less sketchy than Arnold.

- Consider security firewalls merely anywhere from next to nothing to mildly annoying (*maybe* full on annoying, especially if having a coffee withdrawal headache while hacking, on the top tier of government and non-Havenite military firewalls) from her perspective. She is also (IMHO) the Tech Support Lady of where ever she is, at least pre-flag rank, as she gets too busy

- Growing up? What was it like? Tech skills? How'd she become a tech witch? Times people called her a tech or tac witch?

- The brief period of full on confidence between Honor's capture and the press conference. She feels confident again, that she's not just pretending to be a tac witch, and pretending to trust herself. Admiral Tourville and everyone else trust her witchcraft... Here's a example fic of mine of what I mean.

- Conversations with Admiral Tourville about various things, from the events of HAE, to her past, to tactics.

- She didn't jump Commander to Vice Admiral in one shot to Bolthole. Give her something in between, like cleaning up StateSec's mess, or the Civil War. Oh, and adapting to flag rank, and a staff of her own?

- Past Mentors (and their fates). Like before Vaubon.  What happened to them? Many of them were likely shot or disappeared. How did she take things? How did she try to privately remember them?

- At Bolthole
- developing the RHN's hardware, while having to deal with everything else that comes with being a flag officer (especially as she got promoted very fast)

- missing getting to play with her toys (if you do this, maybe set it after the GA, and let her out to go play, and make her deal with temporarily letting Sonja supervise things, but being glad to get out and play with things, and maybe everyone else's reactions to Miss Tac Witch getting out to create chaos)

- If you want, Shannon/Sonja could be awesome (if only Weber was willing to ship it as / instead of &). Just think of the chaos the two tech nerds could create, while falling in love. Meanwhile, some of their fellow GA  Admirals are like "Shannon or Sonja was bad enough, now they are teaming up to hack my social medias as their date night idea"

- Hacking things to have fun

- Her promotion to Admiral. When does that happen? Who pins on her next star?

- Her former friendship with Warner Caslet, and what happens after the Grand Alliance. I suspect his defection (especially as he knows about there being good Havenite officers, likely knew about her trying to save Nimitz, and was her CO) hit her hard, as I suspect she's got some serious trauma issues to begin with. They're going to likely have to interact, so what's her opinion? Does she just try to avoid him? Does she recruit someone else (see the One More Time prompts for more) to forward her messages to him, and forward his replies?

Javier Giscard

- I headcanon him as Thomas Theisman's roommate from the Academy, and having to explain to his orphan roommate "that's not supposed to happen", in terms of what he went through.

He didn't think he'd fall in love with his Commissioner, though he liked the CoPS's ideas (but not the implementation, especially regarding the Navy) , like getting the rich out of power better than the Harris Administration.

Javier Lives AUs can be fun, if you want (like maybe he wasn't at Lovat?).

Thomas Theisman

- His bad drunken night at the Academy (What was he doing, and why?). I got this prompt from seal_nonnie (and from browsing the Honorverse discussion board).

- More details about his life, off-screen, or pre-introduction

- His thoughts on Lester Tourville, Javier Giscard, and the rest of his flag officers.

- falling in love with Eloise (okay, it's mutual), following Javier's death, as she heals

- the pain of losing people he knows and cares about

Lester Tourville

- Getting Shannon from Javier- he couldn't have been prepared for her (from her hacking skills to tac skills to sheer lack of social skills). But he sure is proud of her, by the end. It was a hard road to get to 1915 alive with her, but he knows she deserves all of the goodies she's honored with.

- More details regarding Citizen Admiral Cowboy

- I'm hesitant to put this on here, but maybe another scene from when he's a POW (maybe with the rest of 2nd Fleet's staff) or when he finds out about the GA (happy ending please)

Eloise Pritchart

- Her time as a Commissioner, and trying to be "ruthless commissioner" for the sake of her cover, while trying to protect Javier.

- Her appointment as President, then the election.

- A happy moment between her and Javier.

- Dealing with the rightfully-angry Navy after Oops, and hoping that she won't be lynched. After all, Oops probably scared her a bit.

Esther McQueen

- What if her coup worked?

- Her pre-CoPS past.

- Her experience at the Havenite Naval Academy, compared to the younger batch of flag officers.

Sheila Thiessen

- Trying to protect a former Aprilist, how does she keep Eloise from getting into danger?
- What are some things that the two women bond over?
Manties

Sonja Hemphill

- She and Shannon become besties on first sight.

-  I know TEiF says Sonja drinks tea to get the needed caffeine level (until Shannon intros her to Havenite coffee, IIRC), but really? Why does she try Havenite coffee? Did she accidentally grab Shannon's?

- She and Hamish's rivalry has cooled off from their junior officer era, but they still aren't besties.

- She enjoys hacking with Shannon and can keep up with Shannon, unlike many others.

- If you really need something pre Grand Alliance, maybe while Sonja's a fleet commander at Grenselbane in the early war, she wishes she has her new SD(P) designs she's been working on with some of her tech nerds there, and falls asleep late one night, working on the blueprints?

- What's it like on Bolthole, with her team & getting to know Shannon? Is she trying to learn some French, to be polite to the RHN (some of them speak better English than others, I imagine)? Any language mistakes she makes? What does she think of everything?

- How'd she gain her tech skills?
Michelle Henke

- Her time as a POW and meeting with President Pritchart (We barely got to see any of it in Storm from the Shadows and At All Costs), and got only like one line about how her being a POW messed with her mind.) Feel free to expand that out. Maybe some paranoia because of Pritchart's past, and what's happened to her family? Maybe an exploration of the "is this a good idea", "will it be worth it" from Pritchart's POV?

Ellen D'Orville

- I haven't played with her much, but maybe what it was like to serve with Edward Saganami, or her establishment of the ATC? Or an Ellen Lives AU?

Horace Harkness

- What's he up to now? How are things going with Iris Babcock? How'd Iris manage to convince him to stop being a bachelor?

- BuPer's reactions to his hacking of his and Scotty's files. Oh, and how'd he do it?

*see relationship prompts for more
Andies

- Chien-lu and Gustav's thoughts on things regarding the GA. Do the Andies eventually join? When?

- An exploration of the Andie Empire and government, from either of them, including foreign star nation relationships.

- Gustav's thoughts on the podlayers (remember that bit from AAC about him wanting to speed up the Apollo-capable ships?)

- A deep dive into the Andie Empire, from either of them
AU Prompts

One More Time
Um, there's a lot I haven't fully explored yet, and I do have a timeline, and an AU tag (It's Alternate Universe - One More Time (Honorverse), but it's not canonized yet). If you want to do this, I'll be happy, and may send you the timeline if, you want it.

WIPs of mine in the OMT universe include: a fic covering the Havenite POWs' Christmas, a fic set while Shannon's a Captain, another while she's a Commodore, that whole prequel fic, and maybe a few others (okay, those might be the main long ones, and IDK if I missed a few).

As for a few ideas (that aren't any farther forward in the timeline than roughly where we are as of One More Time (I promise there's more, but hello chaos and a busy beta reader):

- Abigail being used as a message forwarding service between Shannon and her former CO, now a member of the Protector's Own, as they try to deal with the mess of the GA and everything else. Or Abigail trying to convince Shannon that she can reduce her paranoia.

- Shannon's trauma issues from being a stolen officer (especially with the takeover by the PRH when she was little) & events of HAE & main story. She's been masking them with overwork and coffee replacing sleep, remember?

- Eimear's career, as besides her latest posting, I haven't fully fleshed it out. She's roughly 2 years younger and stolen 1902 to Shannon's 1900. Ask for rank details.

- The massive mess of a Havenite officer getting adopted by a treecat (especially given Shannon's chaotic past, including past interactions with Nimitz)

- Crazy AU idea: Rachel Mayhew becomes Shannon's aide, instead of Abigail. Now there are two tree cats, and someone who knows sign and can start to teach Shannon. But, being closer to the Grayson government may lead to more paranoia for Shannon, and Rachel is even greener than Abigail (Rachel should be a Middie, so maybe she gets sent with someone else?).

- Feel free to check out the tag and play with some of the AUs off the AU (the only stuff canon to the AU is the stuff in the series, but the stuff in the tag is inspired by said AU)

Vive Marianne
- Besides a crossover of Vive Marianne and One More Time, I don't have any ideas, at the moment. As for that, I'm headcanonning (as the result of a Discord conversation with Katari) that Elvana's figure goes by Erin, is strawberry blonde and uses she/her pronouns. The Andie figure, IMHO (thank you Katari!) is a German woman, with dark hair, who's a bit absent minded, but smart about military hardware in saner moments, and not great with people outside the Imperial Family.

As for some relationships with prompts:

Shannon Foraker & Horace Harkness

- explaining Tepes and Oops
They're too computer-minded to not, and while Shannon isn't so good at social stuff, if someone sends her Harkness, I foresee a conversation in their future. After all, she must have fixed the exploits she used to let her hack StateSec on her new podlayers, right?

Lester Tourville & Javier Giscard

- The flag officer reaction to Oops (you know, dealing with the mess, trying to contain the chaos singularity that's Shannon, keeping the Commissioners contained)

- Their friendship over the years.

Javier Giscard & Shannon Foraker

- He thought she'd be safe with Tourville. Then Shannon and his friend got into chaos. Then they got out of punishment and he sees her again. Then Oops. Then she's a flag officer. Then she's got the R&D command.

DNW:

- Hurt No Comfort
- NSFW
- Genderflipped
- Graphic Sex
- Snakes
- poisonous mushrooms
- non-con (beyond references)
- police/law enforcement (space navies are good, just skip the Landing Police)
- digital piracy
- Real Life Politics (Honorverse stuff is fine, but writing in RL stuff into the verse, not so much)
- major (non-Mesan/Sollie) character death.

 Dear Speedwriter,

Thanks for writing this!

Fandoms:

Honor Harrington
Honor Harrington Details )
I gave you a decent number of character options intentionally, because it must have only ended up in the tag set due to someone awesome seconding it, right? This is kinda my special interest, so hello ideas!

Spoilers ahead for late series Honorverse stuff
So I love pro-Havenite content, and especially ship Shannon/Sonja (the two geek girls are perfect for each other as they hack and R&D the Sollies and Mesans into atomic particles). Maybe something on Bolthole? Could be Sonja and Shannon hacking their way to each other's hearts, could be them dancing with enough at a techy party, and the whole station finding out. And of course, being Shannon, she wouldn't be opposed to doing some flashy demos to best ask Sonja to something, that is, once she figures things out.

- I see Lester Tourville as being sorta a father figure to Shannon, trying to keep his tac witch daughter from ending up dead under StateSec

- Eloise/Javier is another ship option, maybe something set in the early days of their relationship, or, even better, a fix-it where Javier ends up seeing the GA (maybe he's swapped with the other (minor character) flag officer @ Lovat, or maybe he's called back to the Octagon?). Either way, as for the fix-it, preferably an Everyone Lives Nobody Dies (at least for the major Havenite & Manite characters) would be nice

- Countess Gold Peak was thrown in there to give you a Manticorian character, and some prompts are

a) during her time as a POW, something we don't see in either Storm from the Shadows or At All Costs
b) when discovering the Grand Alliance means Lester Tourville is showing up and some interaction with Admiral Cowboy

Star Wars - All Media Types

- Anakin caring for Leia, after he finds out Leia is his kid. Like his force ghost trying to help her? And Leia being annoyed, but after he saves her life (being Leia is dangerous), she's still mad for Alderaan, but tolerates him.
Solo: Leia Organa
- Leia on Alderaan and her day of demand, I guess as a solo prompt?

Original Work
I'd love a scifi take on the prompt. Maybe the winning side just barely won, and the losing side ended up negotiating a surrender (the winning side was desperate enough to negotiate)? I'd love f/f or f/m.
Vorkosogian Saga

First, I'm not all the way through the series, so stick to anything up to and through The Vor Game.Prefered idea is maybe something with Cordelia as a POW, that wasn't just straight from Shards (like maybe a missing scene).

 Dear Crosscrafter,

Thank you for writing for this! I have a few DNWs, which you should have gotten through Ao3.

If you haven't read the Honorverse, look up the legit Baen CD. It's what got me into it.
Fandoms )

Again, thanks so much! I look forward to seeing it!

If you need more info on the Honorverse, maybe reach out to the mod, who can reach out to me? Or, I'm shannon-foraker on tumblr, and reblog a lot there about the series.
Dear Yoda,

First, thanks for writing this! I’d love to see some Alderaanian culture, and royal traditions, if the prompt you chose relates to that. I’d also like to see some fluff, and maybe some other Organas. I like some whump, but nothing E-rated, please! This is my first time doing the exchange.

AUs are more than welcome!

Treats are enabled and loved, but if you can't/don't want to write them, that's okay.

DNI: Graphic Sex, Snakes, poisonous mushrooms, non-con

Bail Organa & Breha Organa & Leia Organa

I'd love to see Alderaanian culture and traditions, especially royal family traditions in your fic.

Amilyn Holdo/Leia Organa

This could be set while they are teens, or during the Rebellion. No Han bashing, maybe Han/Leia relationship just didn't work out?

Bail Organa & Leia Organa

Things a father teaches his daughter, and things a daughter teaches her father. Set through the years of Leia's growing up on Alderaan. Alderaanian headcanons welcomed! Leia can be a ball of chaos sometimes.
